自らの出会いと別れをスクリーンに投影し、独特の青春映画を撮ってきた多積正之監督。 4作目となる本作も、夏の千葉を舞台に青年と少女が、恋や夢、友情を体験する青春映画だ。 主人公たちが駆け抜ける様々な風景には、私たちの中に染み込んだ夏のカケラが光っていて 映画の中にふと惹かれていってしまいそうになる。 そして、そのカケラは私たちに語り、問いかけてくる。過去、現在の私たちにあるモノ、ないモノを・・・ そしてその答えは、この映画を見て感じたことなのかもしれない。 　The landscape that the characters go trough, reflects summer light that is sunken into us. The answer will be found for the people who only see this movie. 1997年夏、千葉県の海岸で共同生活をしてる4人。知之・篤・太郎・香織は、野外ライブ会場で熱狂していた。 音楽に揺れる人の波･･･まるで引き寄せられるかのように突然･･･知之の前に現れた17歳の少女「智子」 お互いに惹かれあう気持ちに戸惑いながらも、漠然と再会を約束するのだった。 知之たちが暮らす千葉県では、ギャング同士の抗争が 絶えず行われていた。しかも抗争の中心は、以前、篤が ナンバー2だったチーム『ギャングスター』だった。 野外ライブ会場で交わした約束・・・・・もう一度、会いたい 気持ちが、知之を突き動かしていた。そして、二人が再会を 実現している頃。 千葉県を統一目前の『ギャングスター』が最後のチームを 潰しにかかっていた。 抗争の中心人物「ギャングスター」No.2の結樹（ゆうき） 一度は解散に追い込まれたが、チーム復活の 為に再び「ギャングスター」を旗揚げする。　喧嘩と復習に明け暮れる日々･･･千葉県統一目前にした時 その矛先は、以前No.2だった篤（あつし）へと向けられるのだった。 「ギャングスター」No1の正樹は、チームを復活させようと暴走する弟、結城を野放しにしていた。 恐怖で大きくなっていく自分のチームをみながら 後戻りできない道へ足を踏み入れるのだった。 ゆがんだ兄弟愛の果てに決断する正樹の答え････すべては、愛に翻弄されたゆえの選択だった。 　In the summer of 1997- is the year when mobile phones began to come into a wide use. A small house stands near by the ocean in Chiba. There lives a couple, Atsushi and Kaori like husband and wife. With them lives, Taro mentally handicapped though vigorous, and Tomoyuki surrounded with his best friends. Their summer story starts from meeting a smallish girl, named Tomoko at the Rock Festival. In spite of the heavy rain, Tomoyuki and Tomoko find's each other and falls in love. A group of four sooner becomes to be five. This acquaintance makes Tomoko a woman from a girl and it continues by adventuring with the four… 　On the other hand, a gang group "Chiba Gang Star" is trying to unite the power once they had. Masaki lost his strength of being a leader after Atsushi left the group, while Yuki commands the team. To be No.1 again, Yuki goes beyond his control and will gradually involve the tight friendship of the five.
